This beganas a board

This site began as a bulletin board in the municipal hall: a satellite map, fourteen posters, and fourteen lengths of string. Everything here is a translation of that board.

Accelerating the SDG pace of progress
Mobilizing data for all

The Statistical Corner in the municipal hall on the day it was unveiled: a satellite map of the municipality with fourteen pins, fourteen coloured poster sheets around it, each joined to its pin by a length of string, under the banner Accelerating the SDG Pace of Progress: Mobilizing Data for All, with the municipal officials beside it.

Sources

Every figure on this site carries the document it came from and the year it was collected, on a small mark beside the figure. Where a figure is disputed between two sections of a source, it is held back rather than published. Where a source leaves a value blank, the site leaves it blank.

PSA Census of Population and Housing, 2020
The population of the municipality, 7,931, and its 1,929 households. The fourteen barangay figures on the posters sum to these exactly, and the site checks that they do every time it is built.
The fourteen Statistical Corner posters
The sheets on the board, one per barangay: the war cry, population in 2020 and 2024, households, basic services, education, health and infrastructure. Transcribed from the office’s print masters and checked against the rendered page. Undated except for the population rows; where a row is printed with no figure, the site shows none.
Banayoyo Socio-Economic and Physical Profile, 2023
The office’s own profile of the municipality, in fifteen chapters on this site: the naming, the founding, the war, the twenty-eight terms, the land, the people, and the sectors. The two barangay areas that are known, the landmarks, and Elefante’s history are from it.
Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment, 2023
Flood and landslide exposure for every barangay, in the CDRA’s own four classes and stated in plain words here. Eleven of its map sheets are on the profile’s map pages with the MDRRMO’s disclaimer beside them.
The 30 map sheets
From the Office of the Municipal Assessor and the MPDC Office, at 1:30,000, in ESRI:102454 — Luzon_1911_UTM_Zone_51N. The fourteen barangay boundaries on this site are traced from the base map among them.
The towns of the Philippines
For the visitor log only: the boundaries of the 1,647 cities and municipalities, by which a visitor who allows it is counted in their own town. From the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority and the Philippine Statistics Authority, through OCHA Philippines, as geoBoundaries publishes them, under Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 IGO.

The data

The site reads from one JSON file per barangay. The MPDC office can change a figure by editing a file — nothing is written into the pages themselves.

The satellite image of the valley was supplied by the MPDC Office. The name of the imagery provider is being confirmed with the office and will be credited here.
