Livelihood

Seven counts from the Municipal Agriculture Office, barangay by barangay: who grows rice, corn, tobacco and high-value crops, who farms organically, and who raises livestock and poultry in the yard.

One farmer can be on several of these sheets — rice in the wet season, tobacco after it, pigs in the yard. The seven counts are never added together.

Rice, by barangay

Each pie is the barangay's share of the 953 farmers on the sheet, in its own colour, the share printed under it. Where two pins are too close for both pies, the pies are eased just apart.

Every sheet, every barangay

The seven counts side by side. A cell's shade is its count on the same scale as the bars above. Read down a column, never across a row: one farmer can be on several sheets.

Farmers, practitioners and backyard raisers in each barangay on each of the Municipal Agriculture Office's seven sheets, with each sheet's printed total.

A dash: the sheet does not list the barangay. Choosing a sheet's name shows it as a chart above.

The sheets head the column "Area" with no unit. It is hectares: the Office reports crop area in hectares, and the four-decimal figures (53.3183) are square-metre precision in hectares, as farm parcels are registered.

Areas are shown to two decimal places; the sheets carry up to four.
